Reasons to Visit Goa during Off-Season

Goa, heaven for all tourists, operates mainly during the peak season which is from October to May. Several tourists flock to the state to make merry in these months. The monsoons experience less number of people visiting Goa, probably as they feel there might not be anything to do. Goa receives monsoons from June to September. Once you discover what Goa has to offer during the monsoon you will just fall in love with the state. Goa is nothing more than paradise in the monsoons. The entire state is decked up with greenery, the plants bear a fresh look, the paddy fields are green, the weather is cool and perfect to blossom romance. All the fresh water bodies are swelling with water.

A perfect thing to do in Goa is to visit its waterfalls. The most famous being Dudhsagar has a strong flow from great heights thus making it a spectacular sight. There are several other waterfalls like Netravali and Sada which too flow very well making nice melodious tunes with the water. A nice trek to these waterfalls will give you a great monsoon excursion in Goa.

 

If you are a nature and animal lover, you can also visit wildlife sanctuaries like Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary. You can feel one with nature out there and will get glimpses of Goa’s varied flora and fauna. If you love birds, go on a trip to the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. If you like fishing, pick up a fishing rod and go for a nice fishing expedition on any of the Goan waters. In the evenings do visit the sunset river cruises in the Mandovi that will give you some nice entrainment while you party your way on the deck of the cruise. Try out special monsoon cruises on the backwaters of Goa to get a feel of the lovely monsoon season.

As far as accommodation goes, you will be happy to hear that the rates get slashed by a great amount during the offseason.
